Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira was ecstatic at committing his long term future to the club.

The 18-year-old penned a new four year deal to remain at Elland Road until at least the end of the 2020/21 season.

Vieira made 38 appearances for the Whites last season and new chairman Andrea Radrizzani this week named him as one of the “biggest talents in the country” when speaking to LUTV.

The midfielder is now hoping to kick on and spoke of his pride at signing a new contract.

“It feels great, this is something I have been working on since I was born,” said Vieira.

“To stay at Leeds after the season I have had feels unreal, it is unbelievable and I am over the moon to sign a new deal.

“It was an easy decision for me, it happened really quickly, but I have really enjoyed my time at Leeds so far, so I’m really happy with it.

“The experienced players have all really helped me, I don’t think I would be signing my contract now if I didn’t have the help they have given me.

“If I don’t do something right then they will tell me and I’ll know what to do next time, I always take it in my stride and I thank everyone for all the help that has been given me.

“I can’t wait for next season, the atmosphere at the last game of the season was unbelievable, if that continues next year, who knows what we can do.

“Last year was a great season for me and I hope I can now replicate that over the next four years.”
