MIRCO SHORTLISTED FOR MARCH AWARD

United striker up for Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award...

United striker Mirco Antenucci has been nominated for March's Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award.

Antenucci found the net four times from as many appearances in March, starting the month with a match-winning brace against Bolton Wanderers, before adding to his tally in the following away wins over Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers.

Head coach Steve Evans is among the nominees for the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award for March.

The other nominees for March's Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award are...

Lee Frecklington (Rotherham United) – midfielder
A stamina-sapping month for the box-to-box midfielder, who ignored a calf strain to play a hugely influential part in Rotherham’s revival. Barely training between games, he still found the energy to drive forward to score the winner over Middlesbrough.

Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday) – central defender
The heartbeat of a Wednesday defence which conceded just a single goal in four March games. Positionally aware, a timer of tackles and a fine reader of play, he also proved his value at corners with a headed opener against Charlton Athletic.

Sam Vokes (Burnley) – striker
Powerful in the air and finally back to full fitness and his mobile best, he has led the front line magnificently since January, pulling defenders out of position at will. His four goals included a picture-book header against Wolves.

ALL WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON FRIDAY APRIL 8

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman, Football League Head of Communications John Nagle, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
