Leeds United Ladies picked up a useful point, thanks to fine goalkeeping display from Harriett Coles in a goalless draw away at Crewe Alexandra.

Crewe had the best chances in the first period with Coles saving from Bethany Grice, Michelle Saunders and Beth Ragdale.

United’s best chance of the first half came in the 26th minute when Holly Findley found space on the left hand side and her cross caused panic in the home sides defence, only to see it hacked off the line.

The introduction of both Bridie Hannon and Jemma White gave the visitors a lift in the second half, Shelbey Morris who had the first chance after the break, but her curling shot went just wide.

On the hour mark White went close when she found space, but her effort went inches past the post.

Coles again rescued Leeds making numerous to keep Crewe at bay, before United’s final sub Kez Huegett almost won it for Leeds but her shot dipped just wide.

Rebecca Hunt also had a strong game for the Whites in the heart of midfield, as the United picked up a valuable point.
