Whites Ladies defender Rebecca Jeffels tells us all about her inspirations, favourite TV programmes and best friends on the team in this week’s Q&A feature..
1. Do you have any pre-match rituals?
I don’t really have any pre-match rituals – I never really do anything like that before a game.
2. What inspires you to play football?
The enjoyment of the game inspires me to play football. It’s one of those things that gets me away from everything else and when you enjoy it, better things come out of it.
3. What is your favourite memory of playing football so far?
One of my favourite and proudest moments so far is being selected to be a part of the South Yorkshire Schools County FA and not only representing my county in England but in America as well.
4. What’s your pre and post match meal?
Before a game I usually have a bowl of porridge with fruit and then granola with yogurt and fruit usually because that will last me if we have a 2 o’clock kick off. Then after the game I usually have something like chicken and pasta or rice.
5. Who’s your best friend on the team?
Rachel Stuart – I have known her for a long time before joining Leeds United.
6. Do you like any other sports?
To be honest I like most sports, I have always been someone who loved sports in general. During school and college I was always one to be involved whether it be netball, football, rugby or rounders. Also, I used to play a lot of golf with my older brother and dad.
7. What’s your favourite TV programme?
I don’t really have one, if I do sit down to watch TV I do like to watch films more than anything really.
8. What do you like doing in your spare time?
I’m such a busy person at the minute I don’t really have spare time, but if and when I do I like to relax with my family because it’s not very often I get to do that.
9. Who got you into playing football?
I’ve been playing football ever since I can remember really but I think a big part of that is because of my two older brothers and my dad.
10. What’s your favourite film?
I love a lot of films but I think Cool Runnings and Remember the Titans have to be my favourite.
