Leeds United Ladies’ Bridie Hannon made her come back to the side yesterday in their home fixture against Bolton – a fixture that would see the Whites ladies lose out 1-0 to the Wanderers.
Both teams started brightly and pressure from both sides was applied early on. Leeds United ladies’ returnee Bridie Hannon proved her solid and reliable play in defence and came back in to the side a strong asset to her team mates.
The Whites side struck early on with shots from White and Davies forcing the Wanderers keeper into action, with one shot defended by only the out stretch of the keeper’s foot blocking the attempt.
Ahead of the second half, a fingertip save wide on the keeper’s right from a free kick again denied Leeds the lead.
The teams went in to the break all square but Bolton press home the advantage to score and them into a 1-0. Leeds reacted well and piled on the pressure but a late shot from White was saved to deny Leeds what would have been a well deserved draw.
Returning player Bridie is named player of the game by Leeds United Ladies.
