PREVIEW: Merseyrail Ladies vs Leeds United Women

Final game of the season for Whites.

Leeds United Women’s 22/23 FA Women’s National League Division One North season draws to a close this Sunday, as they make the trip to Merseyrail Ladies.

Rick Passmoor’s side will be looking to end an up and down league campaign on a high, inconsistent away form has compromised their ability to challenge runaway top-two Durham Cestria and Newcastle United, but it undoubtedly been a positive season, with the highlight coming in March with the FAWNL Plate final victory.

Sunday’s game provides a perfect opportunity to finish with a flourish, Merseyrail have won just once this season and are already relegated in bottom place, registering just eight points so far.

Supporter Information:

For supporters making the trip to Merseyside, the game kicks-off at 2pm at Cammell Laird FC, St. Peter’s Road, Rock Ferry, Birkenhead, CH42 1PY.

Previous meeting:

Leeds ran out comfortable winners at the So-Trak Stadium in February as a hat-trick from Abbie Brown and goals from Amy Woodruff and Danielle Whitham earned the Whites a 5-1 win.

Brown will be hoping for a repeat of that today, she still has an outside chance of claiming the division’s golden boot.
