Midfielder joins local training session.

Leeds United Women’s player Sarah Dobby recently paid a special visit to Rothwell Juniors to train with their Under-9s team.

The central midfielder was on hand, out of season, at one of their recent training sessions to meet with all of the young females taking part, offering tips and advice, answering questions and getting fully involved in the session itself.

During the appearance Dobby, who used to play for local rivals Huddersfield Town FC, also spent time taking photos with all of the players in attendance as well as signing shirts and various other merchandise, much to the excitement of the youngsters who all aspire to play football as they grow up.

Carla Wood, one of the coaches from Rothwell Juniors, said: “The look and reaction of our players was priceless when they saw Dobby. They were so inspired by her, and we cannot thank the club enough for the support of our young girls, I will be forever grateful.

“I even think that Dobby being there made them all go up a level. We played against our Under-10s the week after in preparation for our final and I have not seen them play as well all year, they even came away with a 6-3 win.”
