Leeds United Women can confirm the signing of experienced central midfielder, Sarah Dobby, who joins the club from local rivals Huddersfield Town.

Dan O’Hearne has moved quickly to bolster his midfield options and has signed a player with higher league experience, having represented the Terriers for the last seven years in the division above.

Dobby brings plenty of leadership and quality both on and off the ball, with her knowledge and calming presence also able to help her teammates across the pitch. 

She has already met up with her teammates and will now be looking to further enhance the squad as the aim for a strong finish to the season.

Speaking after seeing her sign the contract, O’Hearne gave his thoughts on Dobby joining his team. 

He said: “Sarah is a vastly experienced player who has been at Huddersfield town in the division above for a number of years. 

“She is well known in the footballing circles throughout the area and is well respected, so it was a great move for us to be able to bring her in. 

“Dobby is a central midfielder who can do a bit of everything but for me her main strengths are her vision and quality on the ball.

“Importantly, she is also a good motivator and a good person to have at the football club, to help develop the younger players with her experience and knowledge.”
