Leeds United Women Welcome Lauren Joyce To The Team

Goalkeeper joins from Huddersfield.

Leeds United Women have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper, Lauren Joyce.

The 22-year-old arrives from Huddersfield Town Ladies, who play their football in the league above Leeds.

Joyce is a Leeds United fan and didn’t hesitate at joining up with Dan O’Hearne and his side, after spending some time training with the club over the summer.

The Whites were looking to bolster their options between the posts for the upcoming campaign and the signing of Joyce has done that, as she will now add competition for places in the starting line-up.

After sealing the signature of the latest summer signing for his side, O’Hearne gave his thoughts on the new arrival.

He said: “Lauren will add increased competition to the goalkeeping department at the club, which is exactly what we wanted.

“She comes with a good pedigree and has good attributes to her all round game so now we’ll be looking help develop Lauren’s skillset further

“She has the right attitude and has shown the willingness to learn, she wants to be with the club and help it to progress, so that’s great for us.”
