It was fun in the sun as Leeds United Women comfortably dispatched their West Yorkshire counterparts in Tadcaster, on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts started on the front foot in their second pre season friendly with Rebekah Bass testing Chelsea Pilmer after just two minutes from 25 yards.

Leeds kept the pressure up with Laura Bartup heading wide from a Sarah Danby corner and the same player was then clean through but again denied.

Olivia Smart then made her way through the Wakefield defence before being denied by the legs of Pilmer.

Bartup then came close on two occasions before firing in the opener following a great cross from Danby.

Cath Hamill then saw a header cleared off the line before Kanisha-Mae Underdown headed in her first goal for the club following a brilliant free kick floated in by Danby. Abbie Brown nearly made it three just before the whistle, but she fired over when well placed.

The deluge continued after the interval with Danby being denied by Pilmer before Smart did make it three with a deflected effort six minutes into the second period.

The hosts nearly made it four when Brown saw her effort spilled by Pilmer, then Kathryn Smith saw her rebound hit the upright.

Leeds did it make it four as Paige Williams headed in from an Abbie Brown centre. Four minutes later it was five as Smith then rolled in her first for the club.

The goals kept coming in the blazing sun, with Kirstie Hunt hitting a quick-fire double by heading home number six, before placing in number seven 15 minutes from time.

The eighth arrived when Bass finished off a smart move as Leeds made it two games unbeaten in pre season with a convincing display.
