Leeds United Women welcome Sarah Danby to the team

Third summer arrival for the Whites.

Leeds United Women have confirmed the signing of talented midfielder, Sarah Danby.

The 30-year-old comes to the club with a wealth of experience having played at the top level of women’s football in her career, whilst also featuring in an FA Cup final.

Danby becomes the third arrival of the summer for Dan O’Hearne and his side, following the additions of Rebekah Bass and Paige Williams.

Having began her career with home-club Sunderland, Danby made her debut against Arsenal in the National Women’s Premier League at the age of just 15. She would go on to represent the club in the 2009 FA Cup final.

Now joining Leeds from Huddersfield Town Women, the versatile midfielder has also had spells with Manchester City, Bradford City, Guiseley as well as a short time with the Whites previously.

After confirming the signature of his latest arrival, Leeds United Women’s manager Dan O’Hearne gave his thoughts.

“For me, this is a major signing for the club,” he explained.

“Danby can operate in central midfield or on the wing, she’s an athletic player who can dictate the game with her quality and she contributes well with her fair share of goals.

“I’d call her a good all-rounder, she can do a bit of everything to a high standard and everyone at the football club is delighted to welcome her to the team, and I know she is excited to join us.”
