Leeds United Women suffered defeat at the hands of Barnsley on Sunday afternoon, as the Tykes progressed to the next round of the FA Cup following a 4-1 win at Oakwell.

The hosts made the perfect start after just 10 seconds, when Kat Smith beat Johnson in the Leeds goal from 20 yards.

Leeds looked to respond when Harvard hit a free kick just wide, but Lindsay Tugby doubled the lead 11 minutes later, firing from 12 yards.

Leeds got the goal they needed to get a foothold in the game, when Laura Bartup latched on to a Holly Findlay cross to fire in against the post against her former side.

Leeds almost levelled when Harvard’s free kick was tipped just over and Alice Hughes went close with a well struck shot.
