Leeds United Women announce new signings

Leeds United Women strengthen squad ahead of 2020/21 campaign.

Leeds United Women are pleased to announce a number of new signings ahead of their 2020/21 campaign.

The FA Women’s National League Division One season will begin on Sunday 20th September and ahead of their first game, Leeds United Women’s squad has been strengthened in a number of areas with further acquisitions still to be made.

Manager Dan O’Hearne has made it clear he wants to build on what could have been a successful 2019/20 season before COVID-19 hit and therefore ensured he had plenty of options for the first team ahead of the new campaign.

The first fixture will see the team take on Norton and Stockton Ancients away at Norton Sports Complex, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm.

 

Meet our new signings here:

Lauren Breen

Lauren is a pacey winger who will add some strength in depth with regards to attacking options for the squad. She joins the club from Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Anisha Hill

Anisha is an attacking midfielder who started her footballing career at Reading and Chelsea academies before making a move over to the USA to play for a University team.

Alice Hughes

Alice is a powerful central midfielder, adding some height to the squad at 5ft 10. She joins us from Hull City having previously played for Nottingham Forest and MK Dons.

Laura Bartup

Laura is a striker and was the leading scorer last season for her former club Barnsley WFC. Laura had a lot of admirers ahead of the new season with a record of 54 goals in 68 appearances over the last four seasons.

Aaliyah Nolan

Aaliyah joins us from Bermuda having represented the national Under-17 and Under-20 teams in the World Cup qualifiers. She plays as a striker and is a major signing for the club having most recently played in the USA.

Josephine Hewson

Josephine is a full-back who has been training with the squad for a few weeks having settled in very well and with a fantastic work ethic. She joins from Brighouse Town having previously played for Guiseley.

 

The Leeds United Women’s first team will play their home fixtures at Tadcaster Albion’s Global Stadium this season with their first run out against Durham Cestria on Sunday 27th December.
