It was disappointment at the last eight stage for Leeds United Women as Brighouse Town went through in an entertaining game at Thorp Arch.
Leeds started brightly and almost took the lead when Rebecca Hunt headed against an up right from a Jodie Hunter free kick.
Brighouse took the lead when Beresford beat Johnson at the near post. Leeds looked to respond with Havard shooting across the face of goal and testing the keeper from 25 yards.
Emily Cassidy had a shot deflected just wide before Hunter headed just wide. Kenyon’s shot was then deflected for a corner before Johnson made a smart save to deny Parnham.
Havard then tried her luck from 30 yards before Rebecca Hunt’s shot was deflected for a corner as Brighouse held out at the break.

Leeds made the worst possible start to the second period when former player Hannah Freibach latched onto a through ball to make it two.
Again Leeds looked to respond with Molly Havard drilling one wide from 25 yards. Leeds did get a lifeline when Rebecca Hunt lobbed the keeper from 10 yards, before Hunter tried her luck from distance.
Brighouse looked to have all but secured the result when Parnham made it 3-1 from close range. Freibach then prodded wide for the visitors before Molly Havard smashed one in from 25 yards to give Leeds hope going into the final 10 minutes. Freibach did then wrap up the game with a lob over Johnson with 4 minutes to go.
