Leeds United Women stage comeback to win 5-3

The Whites were losing 3-1 to Stockport after 46 minutes

A quite incredible comeback from Leeds United Women saw the Whites victorious in an eight goal thriller away at Stockport County, as they came from from 3-1 down to win.
   
Debutant Millie Kenyon scuffed a shot in the second minute before the same player on her full debut tested the home keeper from an acute angle. Stockport took the lead on the 9th minute when Mapp’s free kick beat Wattam in the Leeds goal.
  
Leeds were unlucky not to level when Rebecca Hunt was denied by a last ditch challenge and then the same player saw her 20 yard drive held by the keeper. Holly Findlay was then denied and Kenyon couldn’t force home the rebound.
   
Leeds did level on the 38th minute when Kenyon latched onto a brilliant through ball from Hannon to fire in. Parity lasted only a matter of minutes as Stockport re took the lead after Newby fired in from a quickly taken free kick.

It got worse for Leeds straight from the kick off as following a scramble in the area, Reeves poked in number three.
   
Leeds hit back within five minutes when Cath Hamill nudged in Kenyon’s corner and ten minutes later were level through an outstanding finish by Rebecca Hunt.
    
Substitute Kirstie Hunt almost scored for Leeds, but shot just over. Leeds completed their comeback when captain Bridie Hannon headed in from a corner.
   
Four minutes later Kenyon finished off the scoring tapping in form a great cross from Findlay. Leeds almost made it six when R Hunt and Smart both hit the cross bar from free kicks, before recording an outstanding win.
