DEFENDER KILLOCK MAKES LOAN SWITCH

United centre-back joins Stockport County...

United defender Ross Killock has joined Stockport County on a two-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old centre-back, who is under contract at Elland Road until the end of this season, is yet to make his first-team United debut but has found himself on the periphery of the squad in recent seasons.

Ross spent time on loan at Halifax Town during last season and has previously had successful stints at Alfreton Town and Chester City, working under current Stockport boss Neil Young at the latter.

Injury problems have kept the Academy product sidelined for the opening months of this campaign, and Ross is now keen to play regular football again after finalising his move to the National League North side.

“I’ve been injured quite a while and the Stockport manager Neil Young took me to Chester two years ago,” he told leedsunited.com.

“He rang me the other the day and asked if I’d be interested in going to get some game time under my belt. The answer was ‘definitely’.

“I need to get back fit and get playing, so I’m looking forward to it.

“I’ve had a hamstring injury and I tore my calf so I’ve been out for about two months now. It’s been frustrating.

“But I’m looking forward to getting back out there. He’s told me I’m going there to play and will be going straight into the team tomorrow. I can’t wait to get going.

“I hope to catch the eye all of the time, whether I’m playing or training.

“This will be more competitive than Under-21s games so it’s a great platform for me to show what I can do.”
