HALL HITS FOUR TO SINK DERBY

Young striker takes centre stage at Derby...

Hall vs Birmingham

Loan man Ryan Hall scored four goals at Derby County on Tuesday as Leeds United's Development Squad romped to a 5-0 victory against the Rams.

The young flyer turned in a terrific display of finishing to score the first four goals of a comprehensive success before Chris Dawson wrapped up the win with a fifth goal.

Development squad coach Neil Redfearn hailed the team performance and the individual efforts of his players.

"It was an outstanding performance," he said. "Derby had a decent team out, they had some experienced lads in there, but we were terrific.

"Ryan's finishing was first class, his touch was good, and he showed what he can do if he is given half a yard. His third goal was superb.

"Greeny did well at right back again, and Paddy Kisnorbo was excellent at centre-back. He did everything you'd want from a defender and he organised well, and he's a big help to Monty Gimpel.

"Our full backs did well, our midfield played with discipline, and our front men caused problems. Patrick Antelmi worked hard and Chris Dawson showed again he is a mercurial young player."

Hall opened the scoring for United when he cashed in on a goalkeeping error and he was also in the right place to capitalise again when the home keeper dropped a Paul Green cross, and he stroked it home to make it 2-0.

His hat-trick goal was something to savour with the player showing great feet to cut in from the left, leaving a trail of home defenders in his wake, before rounding the goalkeeper to slot the ball home.

Hall's fouth goal came from a free-kick on the edge of the box, and there was still time for young Dawson to make his mark with a fine left-foot strike.

United: Grimes, Green (Mowatt 60), Gimpel, Kisnorbo, Taylor, L Turner, Lenighan, N Turner, Dawson (Payne 80), Hall (Walters 80), Antelmi.
