U20 WORLD CUP: INJURY RULES SAM OUT

Byram and BaleUnited defender Sam Byram has been forced to withdraw from the England U20's squad for this summer's World Cup.

Sam was due to fly out to Turkey with Peter Taylor's squad on Wednesday but was withdrawn as a precaution due to a hip injury he sustained towards the end of the season.

The defender was an ever present in the United team until the final home game of the season when Brighton and Hove Albion were the visitors. He suffered a hip injury during the warm up that day and also missed the final match of the season away to Watford.

The U20 World Cup in Turkey was due to be Sam's first involvement as an England international.

Sam is to be replaced by Everton's Luke Garbutt, who is a previous member of the Leeds United Academy and has recently represented England at U19 level.
