LEEDS WARRIOR MEETS LEEDS UNITED

English Featherweight Champion receives some heavyweight backing...

English Featherweight Champion Josh Warrington proved a popular figure at the training ground on Tuesday when he was invited to Thorp Arch ahead of his title defence.

Josh, a huge Leeds United fan, is preparing for his first Elland Road fight – a title defence against Ian Bailey in the Centenary Pavilion on Friday September 27 – and he received some real heavyweight backing at Thorp Arch.

Brian McDermott, Stephen Warnock, Ross McCormack, Paul Green, and Tom Lees were just a few of Josh’s well wishers ahead of the fight.

Josh said: “It’s fantastic to come up here and meet everyone. The manager and the players were fantastic, they all wanted to talk about the fight, and to have their support really means a lot. It’s a shame they won’t be able to attend on Friday because of the Millwall game, but hopefully next time, they will all be able to come down.”

Josh already boasts a strong Leeds support and another big crowd is expected at the Centenary Pavilion. Tickets are priced from £30 and are available via www.vipboxing.com or contact Josh via Twitter on @J_Warrington.
