Leeds United were relegated from the Premier League after three seasons in the top-flight, following a 4-1 home defeat by Tottenham Hotspur.

It took the visitors under two minutes to take the lead, Pedro Porro beat the offside trap and found Heung-Min Son, who teed up Harry Kane to slot home.

Leeds had a great chance to go level five minutes later following a corner, Rodrigo’s cross was met by Robin Koch unmarked, but he saw his diving header go inches wide.

The Whites continued to threaten and Pascal Struijk saw a strike deflect off target, following a long-throw by Weston McKennie.

Adam Forshaw tried his luck from long range and with his attempt looking to be heading on target, unluckily saw it deflect wide.

At the other end, Kane again threatened, looking for his second goal of the match, but this time saw a deflected effort land safely in the hands of Whites stopped Joel Robles.

Koch again went close to finding the net, with six minutes of the first half remaining.  This time Forhsaw delivered a nice cross from the right, with the German international again heading narrowly wide, with Fraser Foster scrambling.

Leeds continued to cause Spurs problems and again created a chance from a McKennie long throw.  Luke Ayling flicked it onwards, with Rodrigo this time heading off target.

On the stroke of half time Leeds won a corner and Rasmus Kristensen hooked an effort over, with Spurs going in ahead at the break.

Half time: Leeds United 0-1 Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs began the second half as they did the first. Kane drove forwards and played in Porro who found the bottom left corner.

Leeds pulled a goal back in the 68th minute, substitute Georginio Rutter found Jack Harrison on the edge of the Spurs box and he continued forwards, before working room for a shot and finding the bottom corner.

Spurs restored their two goal cushion a minute later though, the visitors broke forwards and Porro played in Kane, who made no mistake with the finish after going one-on-one with Robles.

Rutter nearly pulled another goal back for the Whites when the ball fell to him in the Spurs box, he flicked the ball up for a volley, but couldn’t keep his strike down.

Rutter again did well to link up with fellow substitutes Junior Firpo and Brenden Aaronson, with the latter unable to get the better of Fraser Foster from a narrow angle.

Spurs then sealed the victory as Lucas Moura scored a fine solo goal, to condemn the Whites to the Sky Bet Championship.
