Javi Gracia: We want to try and play our best football

Head coach previews Emirates FA Cup clash.

Javi Gracia has been speaking with the media, prior to his side facing Fulham in the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening.

Leeds United head to Craven Cottage in the fifth round after overcoming Cardiff City and Accrington Stanley to reach this stage of the competition.

Gracia oversaw his first game in charge of the side at the weekend in the 1-0 win over Southampton in the Premier League.

“It’s only a win, only a good result for us,” the head coach explained on the Saints win.

“I think it’s really important in terms of confidence, in terms of believing all the things we are doing is very good for the present, and future as well.

“We tried to concentrate all the information, all the things we wanted to change for the next game, videos and training sessions to help the players to feel confident on the pitch and to know clearly what they have to do.

“The result was good. Not only the result, the performance was good. We were compact and solid, didn’t concede many chances and I think we play a good game."

The head coach is now hoping to see his side put in another good display in a competition he has had great experience from in the past.

He said: “It’s something I tried to explain to our players, I have only one experience but that was something amazing for me and I would like to live it again.

“The experience I have in this cup is something unforgettable, we did it with Watford, that experience was really good for the players and the supporters as well.

“I would like to repeat it, we know it is not easy, there is many good teams and watching the next game, Fulham is playing a great season.

“They are well situated in the table in the Premier League and it will be a tough game, but we want to try and play our best football, we have a chance for sure.”
