Jesse Marsch: Brentford are in a really good way

Head coach looks ahead to Bees clash.

Leeds United face Brentford at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, in their latest Premier League clash (2pm).

The Whites come into the game after a midweek success in the Emirates FA Cup, having put five past Cardiff City on their way to the fourth round.

Following that win and ahead of facing the Bees this weekend, head coach Jesse Marsch gave an update as always on the fitness of his squad.

He said: “Stuart Dallas, Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville [are out].

“Archie has made progress, he was out on the pitch so he’s getting close. Cry is probably on the pitch next week as well, so good news.

“Adam Forshaw will not be in [the squad], that’s another one, but Max Wober will be ready, he trained today. Liam Cooper should be ready to go as well.

“Georginio Rutter has looked good in training, he will be in the squad. We have a bit of a numbers situation so we need to see where we are at with different things, but I think he’ll be ready.”

Brentford come to Elland Road in fine form in the Premier League, sitting 9th in the table with four wins from their last five league matches.

“Brentford are in a really good way,” Marsch stated, on the upcoming opposition.

“They’re very clear on who they want to be. Today was a day we focused almost entirely on set-plays, so, we know that’ll be massively important on Sunday.

"We showed a few things that we actually showed from our last match at Brentford.

“Some of the things that we did well and didn’t do well, to help the players really wrap their minds around what are the strategies.

“I think this is always key when you play different teams, there is tactics and playing styles but ultimately strategies.

“What exactly does Brentford want the game to look like and what exactly do we want the game to look like.

“Concentration for 90 minutes will be really important.”
