Pascal Struijk signs new contract

Defender extends his deal with the Whites.

Leeds United are pleased to announce Pascal Struijk has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

A regular in Jesse Marsch’s starting line-up, the 23-year-old has now extended his contract until the summer of 2027, adding a further four-and-a-half years to his current deal.

After coming through the ranks with Dutch side Ajax, Struijk joined the Whites in January 2018 and has since played 77 times for the first team, after making his debut during the Sky Bet Championship title winning season of 2019/20.

He made his Premier League debut in the club’s first game back in the division for 16 years against Liverpool and last season helped the club secure top-flight football for a third straight season.

Comfortably able to operate at centre-back and left-back, so far during this campaign, the Dutchman has scored once in his 14 appearances across all competitions.

He was also called up to the provisional Netherlands squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The club are pleased to have secured Pascal’s future, meaning he will continue to help the side throughout the rest of this season, when it gets back underway after Christmas, and then over the coming years at Elland Road.
