Crysencio Summerville pens new Leeds United contract

Winger commits long-term future to the club.

Leeds United are delighted to announce that Crysencio Summerville has signed a new four-year contract with the club, running until the summer of 2026.

Known for his blistering pace and ability to glide past defences, Summerville has committed his future to the club after impressing during his two years at Elland Road.

Joining fellow teammates Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood in signing new deals, the electric-winger progressed into the first team with both of his teammates after showing scintillating form within the Under-23s set-up which culminated in winning the Premier League 2 Division 2 title in the 2020/21 season.

Joining from Feyenoord in the summer of 2020, Summerville has also represented his national side Holland at Under-21 level, where he scored on his debut for his country.

Crysencio’s hard-work and form was noticed and rewarded with a Premier League debut away at Newcastle United in September 2021, before then going on to make a number of appearances until the end of the campaign.

The 20-year-old played his final match of the 2021/22 season away at Watford in a 3-0 victory for the side, with the squad going on to secure their Premier League safety in the final few matches of the campaign.

Summerville will now continue to develop under head coach Jesse Marsch and his coaching staff, whilst looking to continue his progression and knowledge within the Premier League for the 2022/23 season.

Director of Football Victor Orta commented: “Crysencio is an exciting talent. We have seen what he can do in the Under-23 setup and this year is his time to kick on and deliver in the first team.

“I strongly believe he can become an important player for us. Now is the time for him to focus and work harder than ever to force himself into the team and stay there.”
