An update on our players away with their country!

Dan James

Wales 1-0 Ukraine (World Cup)

Dan James has helped his national side end a 64-year wait for a World Cup appearance, after they beat Ukraine at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday. The forward played 71 minutes of the match and left the pitch with his side ahead, after an own-goal in the 34th minute was enough to send them through to the tournament in Qatar, this December!

Wales 1-2 Netherlands (Nations League)

Returning to action in the Nations League just a couple of days later, James started once again for his country and completed another 77 minutes. A stoppage time goal from Wales looked like it had rescued a point, only for the Netherlands to find a winner seconds later. Wales have one match left of their internationals for this month, which will be a home clash with Belgium on Saturday evening.

Brenden Aaronson

USA 0-0 Uruguay (Friendly)

After scoring last time out, Brenden Aaronson came on from the bench for the USA in their latest friendly at home against Uruguay, playing 45 minutes of the 0-0 draw. It’s now into competitive action for the Stars and Stripes, as they have two upcoming CONCACAF Nations League matches, beginning by facing Grenada on Saturday morning.

Raphinha

Japan 0-1 Brazil (Friendly)

Our Brazilian winger played 63 minutes for his side as they ran out winners in their latest friendly, against Japan. Raphinha started the match and was as dangerous as usual throughout for Tite’s side. The winning goal came from Neymar, who scored from the penalty spot. Brazil will now play Argentina in their final friendly of these run of fixtures, which takes place on Saturday lunchtime.

Kalvin Phillips

Germany 1-1 England (Nations League)

Kalvin Phillips started for England at the Allianz Arena against Germany, but had to be substituted in the 14th minute after picking up an injury. Gareth Southgate’s side battled from behind in the second half, when Harry Kane scored an 88th minute penalty to secure a point on the road. England will now return home for their next two matches, beginning with facing Italy at Molineux on Saturday evening.

Liam Cooper

Scotland 2-0 Armenia (Nations League)

Liam Cooper’s Scotland side began their Nations League Group B1 campaign with a win over Armenia, after two first half goals at Hampden. The Whites captain was an unused substitute for the match. Next up for Scotland is a short trip to face Ireland away from home, this coming Saturday.

Diego Llorente

Czech Republic 2-2 Spain (Nations League)

After playing 90 minutes last time out against Portugal, Diego Llorente was an unused substitute for Spain as they travelled away from home to face Czech Republic. Battling back from behind twice, La Furia Roja rescued a point in the last minute. The next match Llorente could play in is away against Switzerland on Thursday evening, as they continue their Nations League fixtures.

Mateusz Klich

Belgium 6-1 Poland (Nations League)

It was a tough evening for Poland in their Group A4 match away at Belgium, as they suffered a heavy defeat, despite going ahead in the match midway through the first half. Mateusz Klich was an unused substitute. Next up for Poland is another away trip on Saturday, this time against the Netherlands.
