Team news: Four changes made for Chelsea clash

Starting XI announced at Elland Road.

Jesse Marsch has made four changes to the Leeds United starting XI as we take on Chelsea in the Premier League on home turf.

Our club captain Liam Cooper returns to the side this evening and is joined by Pascal Struijk, Rodrigo and Lewis Bate in the starting line-up. They replace the suspended Luke Ayling, Junior Firpo, Mateusz Klich and Joe Gelhardt – with the latter three appearing on our bench.

In the Leeds United defence, Cooper and Struijk are joined by Diego Llorente and Robin Koch ahead of goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Youngster Bate covers the midfield alongside our England international, Kalvin Phillips. Whilst Rodrigo links back up with Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Dan James in the attacking positions.

Joining Firpo, Gelhardt and Klich on the Whites’ substitutes bench, there is Leo Hjelde, Charlie Cresswell, Sam Greenwood, Jamie Shackleton and Archie Gray along with goalie Kristoffer Klaesson.

The following players remain out of the side as the return from various injuries, including Patrick Bamford, Adam Forshaw, Stuart Dallas, Tyler Roberts and Crysencio Summerville.

Tonight’s kick-off is scheduled for 7.30pm and is being shown live on Sky Sports. For those without access or not in attendance at Elland Road, you can follow the live Leeds United blog here.

Our fixture this evening is also dedicated to our official charity partner Yorkshire Cancer Research as we celebrate our two-year relationship, with the first-team players wearing special t-shirts to show their support during the warm-up.
