Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The 30-year-old who has made 26 appearances for the Whites this term, has suffered a fracture to his patella.

Marsch announced the news in his press conference ahead of the Crystal Palace game and paid tribute to Forshaw and his influence.

“We had an unfortunate injury with Adam Forshaw two days ago,” said Marsch.

“He was back in training and took a knock in a collision on his kneecap and unfortunately he fractured his kneecap and it is a six week injury which puts him out for the season.

“Adam is one of the guys in the team who does everything he can to think about the team first, so for us, this is obviously painful as he is an important guy.

“We will still have him around, he will still be a big part of the group in the next weeks and we will still need his presence within the team.

“He’s a leader and important guy, so we need his presence and he’s been really good since I’ve been here.

“It should be a relatively straight forward recovery and by the summer he will be back and ready to go.”
