Mateusz Klich: I love playing in the big games

Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich spoke to the media ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.

The Whites head to Anfield for the rearranged clash, which was originally due to take place on Boxing Day.

Leeds last visited the Reds on the opening weekend of the 2020/21 campaign and Klich gave his reflection on that match, along with what he is expecting this time around.

“It was a good game last season, I scored,” said Klich.

“It was exciting as not many of us had played in the Premier League before and we saw the schedule with Liverpool away for the first game and they were the best team in Europe at that point.

“It was an unbelievable game, my dream was to score a goal in the Premier League and I did it.

“Even though we lost 4-3, everyone was very positive about us and excited and we only left with good feelings.

“This game is going to be better though with the fans as well, so I’m sure it will be a good game.

“Liverpool are one of the best teams in the country, especially when Virgil Van Dijk came back, now they’re now back to the shape they were in when they won the Premier League and Champions League.

“It is another tough game and then we have Tottenham, but there are no easy games in the Premier League.

“If someone thinks for example thinks playing Burnley away is way easier than playing Liverpool, it is not right, because they are all difficult games in the Premier League and all difficult opponents.

“This is going to be massive for our fans and us, I personally love playing in big games and I can’t wait.”
