Marcelo Bielsa: They have a very solid structure

Head coach previews Hammers clash.

Marcelo Bielsa has spoken with the media ahead of the Premier League trip to face West Ham United this weekend.

The Whites return to the London Stadium after playing there last weekend in the Emirates FA Cup, and they will now be returning to league action and looking to claim three points.

The head coach gave an injury update as always, ahead of the match.

He said: “Patrick Bamford has not had a setback. He's still evolving, his recovery still hasn't been finalised.

“It’s probable that Pascal Struijk, Rodrigo and Bamford may have options to return [this weekend against West Ham United]."

After a two-goal defeat against the Hammers last Sunday, Bielsa was asked if any lessons had been learned from that game by his side, ahead of the second successive match against them, with David Moyes' side currently challenging for a top four spot.

“It’s a fight that is deserved and one they are taking forward,” he explained.

“They [West Ham] are a team that has variants for each position.

"They have adapted to the absences they have had. They are a team with power offensively and with a very solid structure.”
