Marcelo Bielsa: Having a high spirit is part of my job

Head coach discusses Arsenal fixture.

Marcelo Bielsa has spoken with the media to preview the Premier League match with Arsenal this weekend.

Elland Road will host the clash with the Gunners which gets underway live on Sky Sports at 5:30, with the Whites looking to put recent back to back losses behind them.

Bielsa gave his thoughts on the upcoming opponents, ahead of the game.

He said: “They [Arsenal] are one of the important teams in the league.

“At this moment, we’re especially concerned about getting back to our best moment, rather than the opponent we’re coming up against.

“The confidence and fortitude of players is all linked to what they do on the pitch.

“The immediate and what is closest, is that against Chelsea we played our best game of the season up until now, then against City, the worst. Both versions were produced with two or three days difference.

“I have the confidence and the obligation to manage for us to reproduce the performance against Chelsea, not the one against Manchester City. Having a high spirit is part of my job.

“To be able to face the most difficult moments, you come out of them correcting things, taking on board things, not delegating responsibilities, not looking to blame others, they’re all the things we try to do.

“Any game that was next was always a possibility to revert or comeback from the last game.”

The Leeds United head coach also gave a further update on the injuries within his squad, after a number of players have been missing lately.

“Jamie Shackleton and Dan James are out,” Bielsa stated.

"Shackleton has a problem in his achilles and James has a problem in his abductor muscles.

“Robin Koch is available. It’s not an evaluation we will make just yet [on whether he will play].

“Luke Ayling came back to play as a starter after playing 45 minutes with the Under 23s. Koch has accumulated training sessions here that are sufficient.”
