Five Leeds United players selected for young Lions

Cresswell, Drameh, Bate, Gelhardt and Greenwood selected

England's Young Lions have selected five of Leeds United's players for their upcoming November internationals.

England U21s head coach Lee Carsley named defender Charlie Cresswell in his squad on Friday morning, as the Young Lions prepare for a crucial U21 Euro qualifying match with Czech Republic on Thursday 11 November.

The group will then travel to the Batumi Stadium to face Georgia for an international match on Tuesday 16 November.

Creswell has been in the first team's matchday squad for all but one game this season, making two appearances against West Ham and Fulham.

Continuing the trend of including Leeds players in their international squad, coach Andy Edwards has called up no less than four for England's U20s fixtures later this month.

Cody Drameh, Lewis Bate, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt have all been selected for the U20s clash with Portugal, where they'll travel to the Dr. Magalhaes Pessoa Stadium in Leiria on Thursday 11 November (kick off at 5pm).

It's been an eventful last month for the four players, as Gelhardt and Drameh made their Premier League debuts against Southampton and Norwich respectively, Bate scored his first competitive goal for the club in the Papa John's Trophy, and Greenwood added his sixth of the season for the U23s against Arsenal.
