Kalvin Phillips: It’s a massive difference with a full crowd

Midfielder on Everton draw.

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips spoke to the media following the 1-1 draw with Everton.

The Whites twice came from behind to earn a point in front of a capacity crowd at Elland Road.

It was the first time fans have been back in LS11 since March 2018 and Phillips spoke about the impact and the result.

“It was amazing,” said Phillips.

“Even after the 90 minutes the fans have stayed back and it shows how much they’ve missed us and we’ve missed them.

“It’s a massive difference with a full crowd here, it’s like having an extra man, it’s great having everyone back and long may it continue.

“We were a little bit disappointed we couldn’t take all three points, but we will work on next week now.

“Every team is going to create chances against us, it’s just the way that we play.

“The goals that they scored we could have done better on, but we will work on that and take it into the next game.”

The England international was also quizzed if this was the best of Leeds.

Phillips said: “No, not yet.

“It’s early on in the season, I’m trying to get my legs back into it now, this is my first game since the Euros.

“Me personally I think I could be a lot fitter and stronger as well.”
