Victor Orta on new Tyler Roberts contract

Director of football pleased with extension.

Leeds United director of football Victor Orta spoke to leedsunited.com after Tyler Roberts signed a new contract with the club.

The 22-year-old, who made 27 Premier League appearances for Leeds last season, has signed a new three-year deal, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2024.

Roberts, who scored his first Premier League goal for the Whites last month, was also named club’s PFA Community Champion for his activities away from the pitch.

Orta expressed his delight with the news that Roberts, who joined Leeds from West Bromwich Albion in 2018, has extended his stay with the Whites.

“We are really pleased to see Tyler commit his future to Leeds United,” said Orta.

“Ever since he joined the club, Tyler has grown to become a really influential member of the squad, making over 80 appearances.

“He is also a full Wales international with 14 caps and will be taking part in Euro 2020, which we hope will be a great experience for him.

“Tyler has continued to improve during his time at the club and still at a young age, I believe we have a lot more to see come from him in the future.”
