Tyler Roberts signs new contract

Wales international agrees new deal.

Leeds United are pleased to announce Tyler Roberts has signed a new contract with the club.

The 22-year-old has penned a three-year deal running until the summer of 2024.

Roberts joined the Whites from West Bromwich Albion in January 2018 for an undisclosed fee and has since gone on to make 82 appearances, scoring eight goals.

Injury prevented Roberts from making his first Leeds outing until August of that year, in the 2-1 EFL Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers at Elland Road.

He then went on to make an international debut for Wales a month later, helping the Dragons defeat the Republic of Ireland 4-1.

During the 2019/20 campaign, Roberts helped the Whites win the Sky Bet Championship, earning a return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.

Last season, he featured 28 times in all competitions for Marcelo Bielsa’s side and scored his first Premier League goal in the penultimate game of the season, as Leeds beat Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s Stadium.

Roberts is currently on international duty with Wales, participating in Euro 2020, with their first group game set to take place on Saturday against Switzerland in Baku, Azerbaijan.
