Marcelo Bielsa: The goals are all beautiful!

Head coach on victory against Burnley.

Marcelo Bielsa gave his thoughts to the media after his side comfortably defeated Burnley away from home in the Premier League.

The win moves Leeds onto 53 points and was the ninth away win of a thoroughly impressive first campaign back at this level.

The head coach felt his side defended well, which proved the basis for the win against a Clarets side who had to press forward in search of a way back into the match.

“In the first half we insisted until we managed to score,” Bielsa explained.

“We defended well. In the second half we didn’t defend as well, but we were efficient and we had chances at goal.

“When there are big spaces, it is easier to attack. When the opponent is losing they take more risks.

“As you can also see, we conceded chances in the second half that we didn’t in the first.

“The goals are all beautiful! Don’t think we scored them because we trained them."

Making a change in the second half, Bielsa decided to bring on Rodrigo to replace top-scorer Patrick Bamford.

The Spanish international made an instant impact by scoring twice, while Illan Meslier was also in fine form dow the other end.

“Rodrigo drops deeper a little bit more than Patrick and in the beginning of the second half, we needed to link more the defence with the attack," the head coach stated.

“He’s [Meslier] a goalkeeper who has grown throughout the campaign. You don’t notice the age he is because he looks a lot more experienced than the age he is.”
