Round-up of international action…

United’s six international players all made an appearance for their respective national sides this week.

Ross McCormack started for Scotland against Poland and played a key part in his side's 1-0 victory in Warsaw. Ross played the majority of the game and was replaced in the 76th minute by Stoke’s Charlie Adam.

On the England front, on-loan goalkeeper Jack Butland captained the Under-21s to victory at Derby County’s iPro Stadium over Wales. The keeper played the full 90 minutes of the UEFA European Championships Qualifying game.

Young United midfielder Alex Mowatt made his international debut on Wednesday evening as Noel Blake’s Under-19 side smashed three goals past Turkey in Chester. Alex was a 67th minute substitute when he replaced Southampton striker Sam Gallagher.

Jamaican international midfielder Rudy Austin added to his international caps on Wednesday evening when he helped The Reggae Boyz beat St. Lucia 5-0. Rudy wasn’t among the scorers, but did have an assist to his name.

Defender Marius Zaliukas played the full 90 as Lithuania entertained Kazakhstan in a 1-1 draw. The Lithuanians took a first half lead but were pegged back midway through the second half.

Finally, young goalkeeper Eric Grimes featured when the Republic of Ireland’s Under-19s lost 2-1 to Romania on Tuesday evening.
