Team news: Helder Costa starts against Manchester City

Starting XI announced at the Etihad Stadium.

Marcelo Bielsa has made just one change to the starting line-up for our early afternoon fixture against Manchester City with Jack Harrison ineligible to play against his parent club.

Taking his place at the Etihad Stadium is winger Helder Costa, making his 14th start of the 2020/21 Premier League season. Playing alongside him in attack we have Raphinha, Tyler Roberts and Patrick Bamford – the Leeds United striker has been on fine form throughout the campaign with 20 goal involvements to his name thus far.

Illan Meslier starts in net for the Whites with captain Liam Cooper joined by Diego Llorente, Luke Ayling and Gjanni Alioski in defence, supported by Kalvin Phillips and Stuart Dallas in midfield.

Today’s Leeds United bench is made up by Kiko Casilla, Pablo Hernandez, Mateusz Klich, Robin Koch, Gaetano Berardi, Pascal Struijk, Ian Poveda, Jamie Shackleton and Under-23 star Joe Gelhardt.

Manchester City currently sit top of the league table having last played Leeds in October at Elland Road. The team managed to see out a 1-1 draw during that game with Rodrigo scoring a second half equaliser.

Today’s match will be shown live on BT Sport with kick-off scheduled for 12.30pm, for those without access to BT you can follow the live Leeds United blog online.
