Stuart Dallas has given his thoughts ahead of the trip to the Etihad Stadium, where his side will come up against the Premier League’s top team. 

After playing a key role in the Whites breaking the 40 point mark following victory over Sheffield United, the Northern Ireland international stated that the same mindset will continue in the squad, looking to carry on winning. 

“It was a difficult game, a derby as well. All form can go out the window in these type of games but we managed to get the win,” Dallas explained on the win over the Blades.

“Delighted we won it and it keeps our little bit of momentum going that we’ve started to build. When you hear people talking about the 40 point mark and it takes that to achieve safety, it’s obviously great to get past that. 

“I know we’re not mathematically safe, but we’re also looking ahead, we’re very ambitious and we want to go into every game trying to win it.  

“One thing about the manager and staff here is that they won’t let us slack off, we will go into every game looking to win. 

This weekend, the prospect of facing one of Europe’s best and most inform sides is one that Dallas and the squad are relishing.

He said: “They’re going to be champions aren’t they, so these are the type of games you want to play in.

“It’s going to be difficult, of course it is, but these are games you look at when the fixtures come out. You see Man City away and it’s the type of game you look forward to. 

“They could play any team and if you catch them on a good day, it can be a difficult afternoon for you, so it’s important that we’ve trained well this week. 

“We’ll analyse them, we’ll watch them individually, they’re an incredible team and probably the best in the world for me.”
