Marcelo Bielsa: The team will be subject to a big test

Head coach looks ahead to Man City clash.

Marcelo Bielsa has spoken with the media, ahead of the trip to face table-topping Manchester City this weekend.

The Whites travel to the Etihad following back-to-back wins in the Premier League, both games 2-1 victories against Fulham and Sheffield United.

Ahead of the match, Leeds United’s head coach gave an update on the fitness of his squad as well as discussing the fact Jack Harrison would be missing due to him being on loan from the Citizens.

“We would have hoped to be able to count on him, especially as his last performances have been good, but we knew about the rule that he couldn’t play,” Bielsa explained on Harrison.

“Like in all the positions, we have more than one option and we are in conditions to resolve this by picking one of those.

“We’re happy to be able to have no injuries at this moment in time given that three quarters of the season have gone passed.

“We’re able to count on a full squad, is something that is very good.”

Last time Leeds met Pep Guardiola’s side, an entertaining 1-1 draw at Elland Road left everyone looking forward to the next clash between the two teams.

“Both teams aim for creativity and this helps in building a good spectacle,” Bielsa stated.

“The team will be subject to a big, big test against the leaders Manchester City and we will see how the team has evolved.

“Three years now we’ve been trying to play in one way, but when you’re trying to play in a certain way there is always things to correct.

“If you change the way you play, then you start another process. I always think you have to improve the way you want to play rather than choose a different way to play.”
