Marcelo Bielsa: The system he uses is a very creative one

Head coach ahead of Fulham fixture.

Marcelo Bielsa has spoken with the media prior to Friday night’s Premier League clash with Fulham, at Craven Cottage.

A pulsating 4-3 win for Leeds was the result when the two teams met at Elland Road earlier in the campaign, so another exciting match is anticipated.

Looking ahead to kick-off, the head coach gave an update on the fitness of his squad, beginning with top-scorer Patrick Bamford.

Bielsa stated: “We think that yes, he [Bamford] will play on Friday.

“Liam Cooper is sick, Leif Davis has a small problem which is nothing serious.

“Rodrigo had a muscle injury yesterday in training, I don’t know if he will be available on Friday. Either way it’s not an important injury.”

Heading to Craven Cottage this time to face Scott Parker’s side, Bielsa is well aware of the challenge the Whites will be up against on Friday night.

He said: “The idea of the manager is reflected in Fulham’s play.

"In the first round it was difficult for them to impose their style and in the second round of fixtures they started to do this a lot better.

“I remember the style when we faced them in the Championship and it’s the same style, but they’ve managed to impose it in a lot of games in the Premier League.

“I think he’s [Scott Parker] a manager who has earned the recognition by all of those in the Premier League.

“He’s gone through difficult moments in the Championship and in the Premier League. All of them he’s managed to overcome them by imposing and the system he uses is a very creative one.”
