Marcelo Bielsa: They’re in a positive dynamic

Head coach ahead of Chelsea clash.

Marcelo Bielsa has spoken with the media, prior to Saturday’s fixture with Chelsea.

The Whites welcome the Blues for a lunchtime kick-off, in a league fixture that hasn’t taken place since 2003 at Elland Road.

Building up to the game, Leeds United’s head coach gave an update on team news and the availability within his squad.

“They’re both good,” he explained on Kalvin Phillips and Rodrigo after they returned in Monday’s defeat to West Ham United.

“Jamie Shackleton is available now, Robin Koch also, Gaetano Berardi also. The players not available are Pablo Hernandez, Adam Forshaw and Pascal Struijk.”

Chelsea are unbeaten under new head coach Thomas Tuchel and Bielsa is aware that the visitors will pose a tough test at the weekend, as his side look to return to winning ways following two defeats in their last two games.

Marcelo said: “They’re in a positive dynamic in terms of results and have a clear confidence in how they manage the ball.

“We’ll have to try to defend well and attack better than they do.

“I thought they were avoidable defeats [against Aston Villa & West Ham] and that we were beaten by teams who weren’t superior to us on the field, but to convert what you deserve into results is the job of a manager in general.

“The critic that we had over our own game was to convert the possession into danger.”
