Team news: Helder Costa starts against Villa

Starting XI announced for Aston Villa fixture.

Leeds United have made just one change to today’s starting XI following Tuesday evening’s 3-0 win over Southampton at Elland Road.

Helder Costa makes his way into the starting line-up that will face Aston Villa, replacing Jack Harrison on the left flank who features on the Leeds United substitutes bench today.

Illan Meslier starts between the posts for the match after keeping another clean sheet during the week, with captain Liam Cooper joined by Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk in defence. Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas start out on the wings supported by Costa and Raphinha, with Mateusz Klich and Tyler Roberts controlling the middle of the pitch and Patrick Bamford up front.

Kalvin Phillips, Rodrigo, Jamie Shackleton, Robin Koch, Ian Poveda and Adam Forshaw remain out of the squad due to various ongoing injuries.

Aston Villa are also missing a number of key players for the Premier League fixture, including their captain Jack Grealish, Matty Cash, Kortney Hause and Wesley Moraes.

The match will kick-off at 5.30pm and will be live streamed on Sky Sports, if you don’t have access though you can follow the Leeds United blog online.
