Mateusz Klich has spoken exclusively with LUTV, ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The midfielder firstly reflected on Wednesday night’s impressive win over Newcastle United at Elland Road.

He explained: “Before the game we said in the dressing room, no matter what happens we need to win this game because we need the three points.

“We lost against West Ham when we could have won, but Newcastle are around us and we knew we need to win the games against teams around us.

“It was a big win for us.”

The Whites had five separate scorers against the Magpies and Klich feels it’s a good thing that all areas of the pitch can be dangerous in front of goal.

“It was good that it was five different players, I wish I was one of them!” Klich said.

“It’s very good that all the boys are scoring goals.

“It was a good game and a big win, now we go again.”

Sunday’s clash is a rivalry that the squad and staff know all about. Klich fully understood the importance of this fixture from minute one after joining Leeds United.

“When I came to Leeds I always knew, everyone told me the biggest game was Manchester United.

“It was difficult to play them when we were in the Championship (in pre-season), but finally we’re here and we can play against them.

“Unfortunately there’s no fans, but we just need to go there and win.

“For the fans it’s probably one of the biggest games in the season, so we’re trying to win this game for them.

“We know how important it is for them.”
