Robin Koch: We tried everything to score

Defender on Arsenal draw.

Robin Koch spoke to LUTV after playing the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal, at Elland Road.

Leeds ended a run of back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, dominating proceedings on home soil, but unable to get a winner.

The defender was pleased to keep a clean sheet, but ultimately was left slightly disappointed that his side did not pick up all three points.

“In the end we would have loved three points,” Koch explained.

“We had so many chances, but it was not an easy game even against 10 men.

“They were very deep and we tried to go for the goal, but in the end we were a little bit unlucky today.”

When Nicholas Pepe was sent off early in the second half, Koch feels the game changed and it became difficult to break down the visitors.

He said: “We tried everything to score the goal. Today we were unlucky.

“Arsenal stayed in their own half, so it was difficult to find spaces behind them when they were so deep. This was how the game changed after the red card.

“We said before the game we wanted a clean sheet today, this is what we have now after the game so for a defender it is always good to have a clean sheet.

“But, of course, we want to score goals and win the game.”
