Patrick Bamford named PFA Fans\' Player of the Month for Sept/Oct

Award follows six goals in opening six games

Leeds United's Patrick Bamford has been voted the PFA Fans' Bristol Street Motors Premier League Player of the Month for September and October.

The striker started the season in electric form, scoring six goals in the six games that took place across the opening two months of the season.

Bamford opened his tally in the first game of the season, scoring a brilliant goal in the battling 4-3 defeat to defending champions Liverpool.

This was then followed by another strike against Fulham, where he also produced two assists to help the Whites to a 4-3 win.

He was again on the scoresheet in our Yorkshire derby victory against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, before grabbing his first Premier League hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

Voted for by the fans, Bamford saw off challenges from fellow nominees Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane (Tottenham).

Last season saw Leeds United pick up four PFA Player of the Month Awards (Ayling, White and Hernandez) whilst in the Championship, before defender Luke Ayling won the vote for overall PFA Player of the Year award.

Liz Cope, chief marketing officer, Bristol Street Motors said: “Supporting the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Player of the Month Award is a privilege.

"The accolade highlights the high calibre of talent currently demonstrated by the players, while acknowledging achievements throughout the season."

Congratulations Patrick!
