Marcelo Bielsa: Crystal Palace have a distinct style of play

Head coach on Crystal Palace.

Marcelo Bielsa shared his thoughts to the media, ahead of the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Whites are looking to bounce back from Monday’s defeat at Elland Road, aiming for a third straight away win.

Beginning with team news, the head coach gave an update on the fitness of his squad.

He said: “The situation with Rodrigo, we will evaluate next week,” following confirmation that the forward had received a positive COVID-19 test.

“Diego Llorente and Kalvin Phillips won’t be available for the game on Saturday.

“I haven’t decided on Raphinha just yet, we’re going to wait until tomorrow to see whether we can count on him or not, the rest are in condition to participate.”

Leeds United travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday for the first time since 2013 and Bielsa also Spoke about the Eagles and their manager Roy Hodgson.

He said: “They’re a team who has very important players in attack and a team who has a stable base.

“They have a distinct style of play that they don’t change, but they do improve.

“Like the majority of the teams in the division they have had some very good moments and also some not so good moments, but they are a team with experience.

“I sincerely respect Roy Hodgson a lot.

“I’m not the best person to have an opinion as I have only been here for two years, but I have the opinion that he’s a very valued member of the English community given the trajectory of his career and his behaviour.”
