Stuart Dallas: We’ve got to bounce back on Friday

Full-back on Wolves defeat.

Following defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road on Monday evening, Stuart Dallas gave his thoughts after the full-time whistle.

Raul Jimenez’s deflected strike saw the visitors take the lead midway through the second half, which in the end was a goal that secured all three points for his side.

“It’s bitterly disappointing,” Dallas explained.

“I think we controlled large parts of the game but maybe didn’t make the goalkeeper work enough.

"It’s a game of fine margins and unfortunately for us they’ve had a bit of luck with the goal.

“On the whole, reacting now straight after the game, we’re disappointed we didn’t get anything out of it.

“When you’re playing teams like this, you’ve got to capitalise when you’re on top and we didn’t do that.

“You’ve got to give Wolves credit as well, they came here, the way they set up they had a game plan and it worked.

“You’re not going to get too many chances in these types of games and I don’t think we made their goalkeeper work enough.

“There’s plenty of positives we can take from it, a lot of positives, but there’s certainly stuff we can work on as well.”

The second half saw the visitors put pressure back on Leeds, after the Whites had controlled the game for large spells in the first.

Dallas was asked why he feels the game swung like that.

He said: “It’s hard to tell straight after the game, we’ve got to analyse it.

“We didn’t have as much control in the second half as what we did in the first half.

“It’s hard to put a finger on it straight away but we’ll watch it, analyse it and break it down to see what we can do better and work on to take forward to Aston Villa on Friday.

“You’re learning every game, no matter you’re playing at or what level you’re playing, you continue to learn and we can take a lot from that.

“We’re five games into the season now and we came into this game wanting to win it, unfortunately we couldn’t do that and now we’ve got to bounce back on Friday against a team who is flying high in the table, full of confidence and playing really well.”
