Striker on Liverpool loss.
Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford spoke to the media following Saturday’s defeat at Liverpool.
The Whites produced a performance with great fight against the Premier League champions at Anfield, but were defeated 4-3 in the first game of the campaign.
Bamford who scored Leeds’ second during the match felt the side didn’t deserve to come away from Merseyside with nothing.
“I think before the game if somebody had 3-3 we’d have taken it,” said Bamford.
“Getting so close and losing the game is annoying and frustrating.
“We showed a lot of character to keep coming back when we went down and we’ve shown that we can compete with the best of the best.
“Going forwards we need to be 100 per cent on it all of the time because with any slip up in the Premier League, you will get punished.
“We’ve learnt a few lessons, but we’ve shown a few positive signs as well, but for us we are disappointed we didn’t come away from the game with something.”
