Marcelo Bielsa: Casilla had a very important impact on the result

Head coach on Reading win.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following Saturday’s win over Reading.

The Whites moved five points clear of third place with a 1-0 victory over the Royals at Elland Road in the Sky Bet Championship.

Bielsa gave his verdict on the match and had special praise for goalkeeper Kiko Casilla following his last minute save.

“It was a similar match to the matches we have played,” said Bielsa.

“In general we created double to triple the amount of chances to the opponent and we had more possession than the opponent.

“Reading had some attackers who were not easy to control.

“There was a situation in the last minute for them where their number six became a striker and that created us a confusion which I could have maybe solved from the bench.

“This player had a clear chance in the last minute for them.

“Kiko Casilla had a very important impact on the result.

“In some games we were better than the opponent and he conceded some goals which impacted the result in previous games, but today was the opposite.

“His save had a high impact for the result in our favour.”

Bielsa also spoke about Kalvin Phillips who had to be withdrawn in the first half with an injury.

He said: “I think it is a kick.

“I don’t know if this is a serious injury or not.”
