Phillips on Reading.
Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips spoke exclusively to LUTV ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Reading at Elland Road.
The Whites host the Royals who have won two games in 2020 and sit mid-table in 15th place.
The 'Yorkshire Pirlo’ is hoping the side can put in another improved performance following two positive results against Brentford and Bristol City last week.
“Obviously we were buzzing, we knew Bristol City were a good team but we made it difficult for them and they couldn’t really play,” said Phillips.
“The clean sheet was massive, we hadn’t had one for a while and we’d been conceding too many goals since after Christmas so we were very happy with it.
“Obviously the red card was disappointing, it was a bad mistake from me, but this break has let me regenerate physically and mentally.
“I’ve come back trying to do my best for the team and we’ve had two good results in the last two games so hopefully we can keep it going.
“We’ve got 13 games to get as many points as we can and hopefully get promoted.
“We know we have to knuckle down, concentrate as much as possible and work as hard as we can as a team.
Phillips also spoke about the impact of the support from the Leeds fans and how enjoyable it is to play infront of a packed crowd every week, “It’s great to play at Elland Road, the fans are unbelievable.
“At home you always want the best record you can have, the last game proved how well we can play and how important the fans are.
"Reading are a really tough team, every game from now until the end of the season we have to treat it as if it’s our last game.
“We have to go out there and give 100% and hopefully pick up the three points.”
